If you want to know what's new and improved in this latest update, read on! Otherwise, if you'd like to continue doing whatever it is that you were doing before this post interrupted you, feel free to click away...although I'm not sure why you clicked over here unless it was work related...which I understand can be stressful too... so just let me know if you need a moment, and I'll cover for you. New Articulated Swords and Shields The most noticeable new additions to TS:M are clearly the new articulated swords and shields. The sword in particular is a standout addition because it was a much requested feature since the game launched. However, it is important to note that this feature does not actually add any additional combat functionality to the game. Rather, these models were created by an incredibly talented artist who painstakingly converted every sword from its original non-articulated format into a new three-dimensional model that allows for more natural swinging mechanics during combat animations. Taking their cue from the original swords, each of these new articulated swords and shields share a similar silhouette and appear in the exact same locations as their non-articulated counterparts. If you're at all familiar with how medieval weapons were actually swung during combat, then you may recognize that they look pretty close to how their animated counterparts really looked. The only difference is that the articulated sword will swing noticeably more realistically than its non-articulated counterparts, which makes striking an opponent much easier for characters in The Sims Medieval. So if you've been wanting to add this feature to your game ever since it launched in August, then we hope that you'll agree that The Sims Medieval is now in a place where we can deliver on that promise. New Green Objects Aside from the new swords and shields, all objects that are created or moved around in the world editor are now created with a green tint to impart an immediate sense of verisimilitude. As many of you know, the world editor became available to players very early on during our beta period. The reason why we allowed so much access so soon was so that you could provide us with feedback about the game before launch. Your feedback revealed some pretty exploitable bugs, which we're happy to say have mostly been fixed now. Unfortunately, there was also an exploit that allowed players to create objects directly into their inventory without first visiting a merchant or trebuchet market. We'd like to sincerely apologize for the fact that some players were able to exploit this bug to gain an unfair advantage. It's important for us to maintain stable servers. If you're catching any bugs that you've reported, keep them coming! Thieves Guild Quest Bug Fix Thieves Guild quests are one of the largest remaining features in TS:M. Lastly, we're happy to announce that this bug was also recently fixed. This means that some players may have experienced an issue with receiving repeated "You aren't authorized" warning messages when trying to complete Thieves Guild quests.
